Our Plants Halfinger Farms grows a huge selection of top quality plants right on site. We utilize every inch of the 15,000 square feet of greenhouse growing space we have. Outdoor production includes an 8 acre field where Fall crops are grown such as pumpkins (including hard to find specialty types), gourds of all sizes and shapes, cornstalks, decorative corn, and more. Because we grow such a wide variety of plants, it is difficult to list each one individually. The following categories should give you a good feeling of the types you might find here at the farm:
Perennials: We grow Spring, Summer, and Fall blooming perennials for all types of conditions including sun, part sun, and shade. We grow a variety of pot sizes to choose from. Annuals: Because we grow our own plants, we are able to offer both the annual bedding plants you've come to love and trust, and others that are really unusual. At Halfinger Farms, you will find plants you rarely see offered elsewhere. No matter what your needs, you'll be sure to find annuals that offer you consistent color throughout the season for you beds, pots, window boxes, or where ever you need a splash of color. Herbs: We grow culinary, ornamental, and medicinal herbs. Look for all your old favorites and for some you've never heard of. Mixed Containers: Our mixed plantings come in a variety of pot sizes and types including moss hangers, flat-backed wall planters, upright pots, low bowls, ovals, and more. We take great care in designing these plantings, so that the end product results in a beautiful living bouquet. We know we're on the right track with our designs because of all the positive comments our customers share with us. Hanging Baskets: We grow a huge assortment of hanging baskets in a variety of pot types. Vegetable Transplants: We grow many types of vegetable plants. Again, choices abound. You'll find your old favorites like slicing cukes and yellow straight neck squash, and the much more unusual such as purple bell peppers and a complete line of heirloom tomatoes.
