What you'll find at our farm:
Halfinger Farms is a seasonal farm. We are open
from April through the end of October and closed the month of August.. There's always something great
to choose from when you visit the farm. This seasonal description shows you
how your choices grow throughout the season.
Spring (April) We open our season by offering plants that can take the cold
nights of early spring. These include perennials, pansies, lettuces, and cold
tolerant Spring mixed planters. We also have a variety of hanging baskets for
the gardener who wants a splash of color and is willing to provide their
plant with shelter at night. The greenhouses come alive for the Easter
holiday with the addition of colorful pots of tulips, lilies, hydrangeas,
hyacinths, nemesia, and daffodils. Treat yourself or someone special to a
living piece of Spring!
Early Summer
(May / June) Plant choices
explode onto the scene with the warmer weather of May and June. You'll be
sure to find the perfect mothers' day gift at Halfinger's in early May, and
everything you need for your own gardening needs during this time also.
Summer (July) Now's a great time
to fill in any holes you might have. We expand our plant choices by offering
larger sized annuals and summer blooming perennials.
Fall
(September / October) What a great time of year! We grow beautiful mums, ornamental cabbages, pumpkins, gourds and everything you need to decorate for fall. On weekends in October, we open our pumpkin field for pick your own pumpkins, our kids/family corn maze, and the free play/picnic table area. Groups are schedualed for field trips to the pumpkin field on the weekdays or as needed.
